One kiss could be the last.
Seventeen-year-old
Layla just wants to be normal. But with a kiss that kills anything with
a soul, she's anything but normal. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has
abilities no one else possesses.
Raised among the Wardens—a
race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity
safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from
those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy,
incredibly gorgeous and completely off-limits Warden she's crushed on
since forever.
Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot
demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay
away, but she's not sure she wants to—especially when that whole
no-kissing thing isn't an issue, considering Roth has no soul.
But
when Layla discovers she's the reason for the violent demon uprising,
trusting Roth could not only ruin her chances with Zayne…it could brand
her a traitor to her family. Worse yet, it could become a one-way ticket
to the end of the world.
My Thoughts on the Book
Jennifer
Armentrout always has the best characters and this book does not
disappoint. We have Layla a strong girl who is half Warden ( the
protector from demons) and half Demon. She lives with a group of
Wardens and is treated well by most of them. There is Zayne a Warden
who Layla loves, maybe like a brother maybe more but they are friends
and of course in JLA fashion he is very hot! And then there is Roth, a
demon who we should hate because they are the bad guys right? Maybe.
Roth has been sent from Hell to protect Layla from what we do not know
at the start of the book, but we learn as the story goes on and we learn
if we can really trust Roth, he is a demon after all. The lines of
good and bad and right and wrong get blurred very quickly in the book but
the one thing I know for sure I want the next book like now!!!!

Waiting on Wednesday 2
This week has some great book and I trying trying to read them as fast as I can because next week is just as exciting!
Everyone has a secret...
Gabe Hyde is on borrowed time. He's been hiding his identity for over four years-hidden from the world that used to adore him--obsess over him--driven to the edge of insanity by one poor choice.
But that one choice, altered the course of his life forever.
Pretending isn't all it's cracked up to be, especially when pretending means hiding your real self from the people that care about you the most. But if anyone ever discovered the truth it wouldn't just be his life at risk--but hers.
Saylor doesn't hate men.
Just Gabe.
Only Gabe.
He's a reckless, happy-go-lucky, silver spoon fed pain in her ass. Everything about him makes her more and more confused. Unfortunately they both donate time at the same Group Home. If she wasn't afraid of flunking, she'd be long gone. She hates that she's attracted to him almost as much as he hates that he's attracted to her--and she can tell, especially since their first encounter ended up making her knees so weak she couldn't form coherent sentences for weeks afterwards. But the closer she gets to him, the more confused she becomes. He isn't who he says he is, and he's hiding something big.
What happen when two worlds collide? Two worlds that never should have met in the first place? Some secrets are too big to be hidden forever--the only question? Will his destroy everyone he loves? Or finally bring about the redemption he's been craving for the past four years?
Everyone has a secret...What's yours?
Available March 4 Amazon
When I met Kiersten, time stood still. It was as if every cell in my body screamed HER. I couldn't look away, I couldn't walk away, I couldn't even move. My other half, my soul mate, was staring right at me. I had to have her. I had to make her mine. But I felt selfish doing that--knowing that I may not have endless amounts of time to give her...and even now that every things' over with and I've been given that time back.
Nothing is ever certain in this life.
Which is why I'm about to do something crazy, impulsive, daring.
After all, what type of person would I be if I didn't take my own advice?
I'm jumping off the cliff, I'm living fearlessly.
This is the continuation of Wes and Kiersten's story.
Available March 9! Amazon
First was The Wild Ones. Now, the next book in M. Leighton's Wild Ones series...
How far will a good girl go for the bad boy she loves?
Laney Holt is a preacher’s daughter. A good girl. Her only goal was to get married, have babies, and live happily ever after, just like her parents. Only that didn’t happen. The two people closest to her betrayed her, and Laney’s dreams came crashing down. Now she’s left with an empty space she doesn’t know how to fill. Until she meets Jake Theopolis, a daredevil with a death wish who has heartbreaker written all over him.
Jake has no interest in thinking beyond the here and now. All he wants out of life is the next rush, the next “feel-good” thing to keep his mind off the pain of his past. His latest rush? Showing Laney there’s more to life than being a good girl—and that going bad can be so much fun. Her only concern now is how she can ever hope to satisfy the wild side of a boy like Jake. She’s looking forward to trying. And so is Jake.

Forever Freed
A heart can break, even one that no longer beats.
I stalk my new neighbors, a single mother and her child, drawn by the irresistible scent of their joy and love. I crave their blood, starved for some healing respite from my ancient grief. Now to lure them into my grasp.
But they surprise me. Little Olivia accepts me without fear or reservation—talking, smiling, offering innocent affection that tugs at my long-lost humanity. Her mother, Samantha, seeks me out when she should stay away, offering sweet friendship, and calling to the forgotten man within me. They lure me instead.
Ah, Dio, Lucien, run and spare them while you can…
My Thoughts on the Book
This is the second Laura Kaye book I have read but the first Vampire book from her that I have read ( so far) it was really a very beautiful story about finding love and the healing power of love. The story is slow to start but once Sam and Lucien start to get to know each other the story is really great. Sam has a daughter Ollie ( Olivia) and she is just a charmer and is someways brings Sam and Lucien together. The vampires in this book are similar to the vampires in the twilight series but are less moody and don't sparkle! but other then how these vampires behave and feed the similarities stop there. It is beautifully written, the characters are great and I look forward to reading all of Laura Kaye's books vampire and otherwise in the very near future.

Seaside Series
Book 1 Tear: Life
as a teenager is never easy. But for Natalee Murray, things have just
gotten way more difficult. Bored with life, she can't wait to graduate
high school and get out of town, especially considering the famous band
members from AD2 suddenly start attending her school, making her once
boring life, absolutely insane.
It starts with a pen. A single brush of fingers, and she is captivated. But Alec and Demetri have a dark secret, one that could shatter their reputations and Natalee's heart. What do you do when one guy paints your life with color while the other infuses your soul with passion? How do you choose when your heart is divided?
Book 2 Pull: Jaded rock star, Demetri Daniels, is in Hell — also known as Seaside, Oregon. Sent to rehab after nearly getting himself killed last year, his record company wants nothing more than for him to lay low, away from the limelight.
Irritated and more alone than he’s ever been in his life, Demetri tries desperately to rebuild his shattered reputation as a drug addict and player, which proves to be difficult when he meets Alyssa.
Alyssa is everything he should stay away from. She’s beautiful, smart, but above all else, she’s damaged. And one thing Demetri has learned is two broken hearts don’t equal a whole.
In the end, he has to decide if he can rise above the life he’s created in learning from his past mistakes, or fall into the darkness of his choices.
Book 3 Shatter: Sometimes the only way to heal... is to shatter.
Rock star Alec Daniels has it all. Love, fame, money... But being in the limelight isn't all it’s cracked up to be, and after one bad choice comes back to haunt him he is left picking up the pieces of his carefully constructed life. Now he faces the toughest decision of his life: Deal with his mistake like a man, or dive back into the dark hole of depression, drugs, and denial that have been his comfort for so long.
One wrong move could destroy everything. His girlfriend, his family, and his future.
Book 3.5 Forever: Men fall hard. Rock stars fall the hardest. This is the conclusion to Alec and Nat's story.
My Thoughts on the Books
I don't usually review books as a group but I read these as a set even though I only intended to read one start a different book come back to the series, you get the idea. But I just couldn't. I loved these books a lot and I just had to see the series through. Each book is great and each story get better and better. A lot of people did not love the first one but I really enjoyed it. It does involve a love triangle and some serious family issues but it was really good. I loved Pull; Demitri is great and his relationship with Alec, Nat and Lyssa is just so sweet. The books build on each other and the brothers growth, it is a wonderful series and I am looking forward to the next one!

This is my first Waiting on Wednesday post but there are so many great books coming out soon I just had to post something! (graphic coming soon!)
I am really looking forward to 2/25 when White Hot Kiss by Jennifer Armentrout releases as well as As Hard as You Can by Laura Kaye. I am so excited for both of these books.

My Thoughts on the Book
This book is the first in the Seaside series. and yes it has a love triangle and yes it has some cheating but I really loved both brothers. I feel for both of them and the lessons they have learned and are still learning. This is not a long story and everything happens very quickly but Rachel is such a gifted writer it all just works for me. I have already started the second book Pull and it is even better. Give this series a try!

Hard As It Gets : A Hard Ink Novel
Tall, dark, and lethal...
Trouble just walked into Nicholas Rixey's tattoo parlor. Becca Merritt is warm, sexy, wholesome--pure temptation to a very jaded Nick. He's left his military life behind to become co-owner of Hard Ink Tattoo, but Becca is his ex-commander's daughter. Loyalty won't let him turn her away. Lust has plenty to do with it too.
With her brother presumed kidnapped, Becca needs Nick. She just wasn't expecting to want him so much. As their investigation turns into all-out war with an organized crime ring, only Nick can protect her. And only Becca can heal the scars no one else sees.
Desire is the easy part. Love is as hard as it gets. Good thing Nick is always up for a challenge..
My Thoughts on the Book:
What a great read! Fast paced, sexy, suspenseful, and a great mystery too all wrapped in a package of an ex army special forces team that are based out of a tattoo shop. And while not the best part but pretty close for me is that is was set in Baltimore, where I am from and that made me enjoy every scene in the city even more, but location does not matter if you are reading the book for Men, Mystery and Romance!

Be with Me
Teresa Hamilton is
having a rough year—she’s in love with her big brother’s best friend,
but he hasn’t spoken to her since they shared a truly amazing,
mind-blowing, change-your-life kiss. She got out of a terrible
relationship. And now an injury is threatening to end her dance career
for good. It’s time for Plan B – college. And maybe a chance to convince
Jase that what they have together is real.
Jase Winstead has a huge secret that he’s not telling anyone. Especially not his best friend’s incredibly beautiful sister. Even though he and Teresa shared the hottest kiss of his life, he knows that his responsibilities must take priority. He certainly doesn’t have time for a relationship. But it doesn’t help that all he can think about kissing the one girl who could ruin everything for him.
As they’re thrown together more and more, Jase and Tess can’t keep denying their feelings for each other. But a familiar danger looms and tragedy strikes. As the campus recovers, the star-crossed couple must decide what they’re willing to risk to be together, and what they’re willing to lose if they’re not…
My Thoughts on the Book
I still am in a bit of a book hangover with this book so I may update this later but I loved this book! JLA never disappoints and this is no exception. Jase and Tess are wonderful and while I wanted to strangle Jase at several points in the story I knew an HEA would come and it would be well earned, I think it was even harder earned then Wait for You. Such great emotion for both and such a great story. My only question is what did Jase get Tess for Christmas??????

He never wanted to be a hero…until she needed him to be.
Strength…
It took Kennedy Moore years to put her life back together after Reese Spencer shattered it. But she did. Now, years later, strong and independent, she is in pursuit of a single dream—to dance with the Altman American Dance Theater. Unfortunately, Kennedy is learning that a girl from nowhere with no money and no contacts might never be able to reach her goal.
That is, until Reese reappears, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Kennedy just can’t refuse. In exchange for working on his yacht for a few short weeks, he’ll get her an audition with the famous dance troupe. All Kennedy has to do is keep her head down, work hard and resist Reese. That sounds easy enough, right?
Weakness…
Reese doesn’t want to make it easy for Kennedy. Seeing her again has started a fire in his blood—an unwelcome one. It took him years to forget about her before, so this time he has a plan. It’s simple: Get Kennedy on his yacht, seduce her, get her out of his system, move on with his life. That sounds easy enough, right?
But the one thing Reese didn’t plan for was Kennedy herself—a girl so strong yet so broken, she makes him want to rescue her, to take care of her. To save her. Even if he has to save her from himself.
My Thoughts on the Book
4.5 stars. I loved Reece and Kennedy's story. Reece is an arrogant guy but even when he is thinks he is being honest with himself about how he thinks he feels you can tell he feels more, which is good because he would be hard to like otherwise. Kennedy has past that was not pretty and Reece was the best part of it and part of the worst at the same time. She tries to keep her heart safe but it hard to really keep Reece at a safe distance. Their reunion is a surprise and it is beautiful how they get together, before it starts to fall apart again. HEA is the ending but it is well and hard earned.
