Best Wedding Toast Ever

There’s tortured. And there’s Garth Black.

His life has been a constant carousel of tragedy and disappointment, including his love life. Of course, applying the term “love” to Garth’s conquests is a gross misuse of the word. Some people were made to give and accept love, and others weren’t. Garth Black redefines the “others” category. He’s made a vow that the day he meets a woman who could sucker him into falling in love will be the day he runs away.

Garth’s plan has one flaw. What happens when he’s already fallen hard for a girl before the warning signs and red flags go up? What happens when the love he’s avoided his entire life brings him to his knees? What happens when Garth Black lets the dirtiest four letter word he’s ever known into his dark, lonely life?

This cowboy’s about to find out he can control some things, and he can’t control others. Number one on the what he can’t control list?

Love.

My Thoughts on the Book

I love this series, and this book is no exception.  Garth hates life and loves what he thinks he can not have or deserve.  Josie.  This book was filled with a lot of healing, emotion, self refection and ass kicking and Garth needed all of it.  The ending is perfect and prepare yourself for the best wedding speech in history, it will leave you crying in the best way.

Between the pissed off creatures that want demon-hunter Lily Marks dead and the fallen angel who just...wants her, Lily is about ready to trade in forever for a comfy job in a cubicle farm. The fact that she and Julian are civil to one another is enough to have her thrown out of the Sanctuary, but she can't shake her not-so-angelic stalker or how he brings her dangerously close to ecstasy. Her forbidden relationship with Julian provides the perfect fuel for suspicion when a traitor is discovered to be working within the Sanctuary. Lily quickly finds herself hunted by well, everyone. Her only hope is to discover the real traitor before she loses everything--and she'll need Julian's help. That is, if Julian is really there to help her...and not destroy her. Yeah, being a Nephilim isn't everything it's cracked up to be.

My Thoughts on the Book

I liked this but I did not love it, which is really hard for me to say as I am such a fan of Jennifer Armentrout's books. This book for me was good but missing the great chemistry between the characters and character development I have seen in her other books. Julian was flat to me and I wanted more of Michael at first.  I also felt there were just too many story lines going on for a first book of a series. BUT and this is a big BUT, the last few chapters really redeemed the book for me and I was so happy about that!  I will be reading the next book in the series, One, because I love Jennifer's books and two, because the last few chapters finally hooked me. 3.75 stars

The scorching tale of one girl, two brothers and a love triangle…that’s not. Olivia Townsend is nothing special. She’s just a girl working her way through college so she can return home to help her father run his business. She’s determined not to be the second woman in his life to abandon him, even if it means putting her own life on hold. To Olivia, it’s clear what she must do. Plain and simple. Black and white. But clear becomes complicated when she meets Cash and Nash Davenport. They’re brothers. Twins. Cash is everything she’s always wanted in a guy. He’s a dangerous, sexy bad boy who wants her in his bed at any cost. He turns her insides to mush and, with just one kiss, makes her forget why he’s no good for her. Nash is everything she’s ever needed in a guy. He’s successful, responsible and intensely passionate. But he’s taken. Very taken, by none other than Marissa, Liv’s rich, beautiful cousin. That doesn’t stop Olivia from melting every time he looks at her, though. With just one touch, he makes her forget why they can never be together. Black and white turns to shades of gray when Olivia discovers the boys are hiding something, something that should make her run as far and as fast as she can. But it’s too late to run. Olivia’s already involved. And in love. With both of them. Both brothers make her heart tremble. Both brothers set her body on fire. She wants them both. And they want her. How will she ever choose between them?

 My Thoughts on the Book
I really enjoyed this book, it was fun and sexy and has a great twist near the end that makes it even better. Cash is a bad boy but you get hints that he may not be all bad all the time and Nash his twin brother is just a sexy but clearly does not share the same bad boys ways has his bother. Olivia finds herself attracted to both but feels she can not have either. The ending while not a cliff hanger clearly lets you know there is more to the story and has you looking forward to the next book. There is more to the story of Cash/Nash and Olivia and I can't wait to get to the next book. 4.5 stars

18369723I'm not your typical girl. I've been running away from the memories that haunt me for so long that depression has become my only comfort. I was content in the darkness...until Wes Michals offered to be my light.

I didn't know that time wasn't my ally -- that every second that ticked past was one step closer to the end of something that was beginning to mean the end of myself. He tried to warn me. He promised me all he was able to offer--each moment as it came--but it would never be enough.

Sometimes when you think it's the end, it's only the beginning. Wes thought he could save me, but in giving me everything, he ruined me. Because after one kiss, one touch, I couldn't--I wouldn't ever be the same.

And from that moment on, his heartbeat became my own.

My Thoughts on the Book

I am not sure I have ever read a book that had me on an emotional edge for the entire book like this one did. This book had me aching for both characters the entire book. I fell in love with both of them right away and was worried for both right away too. This book is beautiful, it will make you laugh it will make you cry, it will have you swooning over almost everything that comes out of Wes's mouth. It is all most too much and not enough at the same time. Rachel created fabulous characters and the supporting characters were just what Wes and Kiersten needed for their journey as well. Other reviews have said this and I have to agree, this book will stay with me for a very long time. Just thinking about it makes my heart ache but in a very very good way. 5+ stars!

But when it comes to matters of love, bargains are meaningless and plans are changeable. There on the wild lands of Blackmoore, Kate must face the truth that has kept her heart captive. Will the proposal she is determined to reject actually be the one thing that will set her heart free?

My Thoughts on the Book
3.5 stars There were parts of the books I really enjoyed but other parts that were really lacking for me. I enjoy Julianne Donaldson's writing style and I think I always will but this book left me wanting more. We have a case of two overbearing mothers trying to control Kate and Henry and to be together they have to get past that. We have a happy ending and I am grateful for that but what happened with the mothers? What happened with Blackmoore?, we get a very poor hint in the very short last chapter about Blackmoore but nothing more. There were too many strings that were not tied up in the end for me to really enjoy this book and too little of Henry in the beginning for me to really be interested. I wanted to love it but I just could not. But please is you like sweet historical Romances read Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson the story works perfectly and the chemistry between the characters is just wonderful.

Embrace the Forbidden

What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?

This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.
Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

My Thoughts on the Book

This books should go on a self "why did I not read it sooner" This books is a new take on the fallen angel and while I have not always enjoyed fallen angel stories in the past Wendy Higgins' take to the theme is one I very much enjoy. The Nephilim in this story or children of demon (or fallen angels) and humans and are forced to help there fathers promote evil and most a clearly not happy about it. Wendy Higgins creates a wonderful story or love that is not allowed but can not be denied even if they try. Change is coming for the Neph and it will not be easy but you will want to see more of Anna and Kai.

9659607My name—my True Name—is Ashallayn’darkmyr Tallyn. I am the last remaining son of Mab, Queen of the Unseelie Court. And I am dead to her. My fall began, as many stories do, with a girl…

To cold faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.

Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl—smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.

With the unwelcome company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end—a quest to find a way to honor his vow to stand by Meghan's side.

To survive in the Iron Realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. And along the way Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

My Thoughts on the Book:
I really enjoyed this series and I am really happy with how it ended. I really am, but this book did leave me a little flat. This book is Ash's story so that he can be with Meghan and it is important and well done but we have almost no Meghan in the story and it is a very much a in your head type of story. Puck's interaction with Ash were really great but I missed the trio a lot. Don't worry I still loved the book and will be getting into the series soon. So many books so little time.

17314430Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

My Thoughts on the Book:

I have always loved Jennifer's books. I started with her Lux series and was hooked. Jennifer was promoting this book on facebook and how could you not be curious about Cam and his cookies come on, who could not be. But then I read in and OMG it is the perfect book. It has humor and heart, tenderness and brutal reality. Jennifer put so much into this book and all of it worked brilliantly. This was my first time reading a "New Adult" book but because of Jennifer I will be giving more in this type a try and more often. Thank you for Cam.

16172634Mackenzie “Max” Miller has a problem. Her parents have arrived in town for a surprise visit, and if they see her dyed hair, tattoos, and piercings, they just might disown her. Even worse, they’re expecting to meet a nice, wholesome boyfriend, not a guy named Mace who has a neck tattoo and plays in a band. All her lies are about to come crashing down around her, but then she meets Cade.

Cade moved to Philadelphia to act and to leave his problems behind in Texas. So far though, he’s kept the problems and had very little opportunity to take the stage. When Max approaches him in a coffee shop with a crazy request to pretend to be her boyfriend, he agrees to play the part. But when Cade plays the role a little too well, they’re forced to keep the ruse going. And the more they fake the relationship, the more real it begins to feel.

My Thoughts on the Book: Faking is adorable and more then that too.  It is the perfect romantic comedy with a level of character development you don't  see in a light romance.  Cora Carmack has the wonderful ability to balance fun and heart.  Cora is now added to my list of go to authors for stories that have great swoon worthy guys and stories with humor and soul.
