Review: The Legend of the Bloodstone

The Legend of the Bloodstone The Legend of the Bloodstone by E.B. Brown
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 Stars It is a good story very fast based but I never quite connected with the characters until closer to the end of the book. I think I would have liked it more if I know more about Maggie in the real time either before the Time Walked or during her time back. But I did enjoy it and I will read more by E.B. Brown in the future.

Review: Ain't She a Peach?

Ain't She a Peach? Ain't She a Peach? by Molly Harper
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have not laughed so hard in a while and I am a regular reader of Molly Harpers books. This book is sweet and charming and you will have a smile while reading but there are a few parts that are full on laugh out loud funny!

Review: Laird of the Black Isle

Laird of the Black Isle Laird of the Black Isle by Paula Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It was wonderful to be back in Paula Quinn's world again. This book was everything I wanted for this fabulous extended family and the fact that it has some Beauty and the Beast elements to it, intended or not made it that much sweeter.

Review: Counting on a Countess

Counting on a Countess Counting on a Countess by Eva Leigh
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have always loved Eva Leigh/Zoe Archer books and this one is no exception. Strong Women and supporting Men make a great romance in any time period. While this is a London Underground book I'm pretty sure there is crossover with the Wicked Quills of London Series too and I was very happy to see that too!

Review: Sinner

Sinner Sinner by Sierra Simone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first Sierra Simone book and it will not be my last. This book was incredible, I was expecting a "bad boy" turned good book and I was not wrong but it was so much more. Sean has some very good and deep reason for being how he is but to follow his journey to get to a good place in his life is one of the most beautiful things I have seen written in a long time. Is the book sexy? Is it steamy? Does it push some boundaries? Yes it does; but is does it all in a beautiful and thought provoking way.

Review: On Hart’s Boardwalk

On Hart’s Boardwalk On Hart’s Boardwalk by Samantha Young
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love this story and it was a simply wonderful crossover. I will say the Prologue had me worried and as a none spoiler, spoiler; relax it will be ok. Samantha has never let us down and she did not this time. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer but that is really a compliment! Enjoy.

The Daughter of Sherlock Holmes

The Daughter of Sherlock Holmes by Leonard GoldbergThe thrilling tale of Sherlock Holmes’ daughter and her companion Dr. John Watson Jr. as they investigate a murder at the highest levels of British society from the USA Today bestselling author.

1910. Joanna Blalock’s keen mind and incredible insight lead her to become a highly-skilled nurse, one of the few professions that allow her to use her finely-tuned brain. But when she and her ten-year-old son witness a man fall to his death, apparently by suicide, they are visited by the elderly Dr. John Watson and his charming, handsome son, Dr. John Watson Jr. Impressed by her forensic and deductive skills, they invite her to become the third member of their deductive team.

Caught up in a Holmesian mystery that spans from hidden treasure to the Second Afghan War of 1878-1880, Joanna and her companions must devise an ingenious plan to catch a murderer in the act while dodging familiar culprits, Scotland Yard, and members of the British aristocracy. Unbeknownst to her, Joanna harbors a mystery of her own. The product of a one-time assignation between the now dead Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler, the only woman to ever outwit the famous detective, Joanna has unwittingly inherited her parents’ deductive genius.

Fans of the Rizzoli and Isles series by Tess Gerritsen and the Stapleton and Montgyomery series by Robin Cook will enjoy this suspenseful story, full of excitement and intrigue.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE BOOK

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to review this book.

3.5 stars for me. If you are a fan of Sherlock Holmes and strong women characters you will enjoy this book. It is written is a very Watson style which was fun but at times I felt it was trying too hard to be a new Sherlock Holmes adventure. Over all I enjoyed it and would recommend it to Homes fans as a fun addition.
